Carl Cox Motorsport Series
6 SECONDS. £20,000. NO ENTRY FEE. THE CARL COX RACE SERIES.
You know Carl on two wheels. This is what he does on four. A brand new race series built from the ground up, with serious prize money, no barriers to entry, and some of the fastest cars ever put on a race track.
From bikes to the drag strip
Carl's love of motorsport runs deep. Most people in the community know him through his passion for bikes, but away from two wheels he has spent years behind the wheel of a Pro Mod drag car, one of the most extreme racing machines on the planet.
He does not just own one. He races it. Properly. And now he has built an entire championship around the sport he loves, putting up serious prize money and removing every barrier he could find to make the field as strong as possible.

Pro Mod drag racing: what are we actually talking about?
If drag racing is new territory, here is what you need to know. Two cars. A straight line. A quarter mile. The whole thing is over before you have finished processing what just happened.
Pro Mod sits at the absolute extreme end of what is mechanically possible. These cars produce around 3,000 horsepower, launch from a standing start and cover 400 metres in under six seconds, hitting speeds of over 400 kilometres per hour before they hit the finish line.
The noise has to be experienced in person. The ground shakes. Your chest compresses. People who see it for the first time tend to stand with their mouths open. It is that kind of experience.
So what is the Carl Cox Motorsport Series?
A three-round Pro Mod championship held at Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire, the home of drag racing in Europe and one of the most iconic motorsport venues in the UK.
Carl designed the format from the ground up to produce the best racing possible. It is built around an Australian model that gives every competitor more runs per event, fairer matchups and a points structure that rewards consistency across the full season rather than just peaking on one day. There is a 5.90 second index, meaning the ideal run hits exactly 5.90 and the scoring rewards precision as much as raw speed.
And to ensure the strongest possible field, Carl removed the thing that most often keeps great cars off the start line. There is no entry fee.

How does a race weekend work?
Each round plays out across two days. The first two runs are qualifying. No points awarded here. Competitors are setting their elapsed time, which determines lane choice when the racing starts. The car that runs closest to 5.90 in the first qualifying session takes home a £500 bonus just for showing up ready.
From run three onwards, points are on the board. Two rounds of head-to-head racing across the two days, followed by a finals structure for the top eight in points. The more consistent you are across the whole weekend, the better your position heading into the finals.
Day 1
- Run 1 (Q1) Qualifying, no points. £500 bonus to the car nearest 5.90.
- Run 2 (Q2) Qualifying, no points. Lane choice seeding continues.
- Run 3 (Race 1) Points racing begins.
Day 2
- Run 4 (Race 2) Points racing continues.
- Run 5 (Race 3) Points racing continues.
- Run 6 (Finals) A, B, C and D Finals for the top 8 in points.
How are points scored?
Points come from several directions, which is what makes the format interesting. Winning a head-to-head race earns the most, but elapsed time ranking across all competitors also earns points every round. A car that loses a race but runs a brilliant time is not left with nothing.
- Race win: 30 points
- Runner-up: 10 points
- ET ranking each round (1st to 8th, worth 8 points down to 1)
- Lowest ET bonus across the event: 5 points
- Top speed bonus across the event: 5 points
The maximum available per event is 149 points, and all points accumulate across all three rounds to determine the overall series champion.
Finals points breakdown
The top eight in points after the racing rounds go into the finals. The A Final is the big one, and the points on offer reflect that.
| Final | Winner | Runner-up |
|---|---|---|
| A Final | 55 points | 35 points |
| B Final | 28 points | 23 points |
| C Final | 17 points | 15 points |
| D Final | 10 points | 5 points |
The end-of-series fund
Commit to all three rounds and you are automatically in the running for the £30,000 end-of-series fund, split evenly between every competitor who completes the full campaign. Turn up for all three events and you get paid for the commitment, regardless of where you finish on the day.
