Brands Hatch BSB finale preview: Shakey Byrne

The British Superbike Championship title will decided at Brands Hatch next week. When BSB visited earlier the Kent circuit earlier this year, Shane 'Shakey' Byrne and Carl Cox got to meet in person for the first time, with their chat captured on camera by TNT Sports. As a result it seemed fitting to ask the six-time BSB Champion his thoughts on the upcoming season finale…

"The final round of the British SuperBike Championship goes to Brands Hatch next weekend, (16th - 18th of October). Brands Hatch has actually always been a special place for me with lots of victories there including a World Superbike wild card double.

The final round of the championship always sees the champion crowned and this year it's  looking very likely to be Kyle Ryde who's had an absolutely fantastic season. Kyle versus Scott Redding's going to be a great battle, but another local lad Bradley Ray will be hoping to be in the mix too.

Carl Cox supported rider Ilya Mikhalchik has been particularly impressive of late, getting his best-ever super bike race results last time out at Assen so it'll be exciting to see how he goes in this final round.

And always expect some standout performances at Brands, this final round as ever will be amazing."
