01 / ORIGIN

How It Started

I first got interested in motorsport while attending Santa Pod with my family, and then had a tuition day in Santa Pod's Junior Dragster.

I realised it was more than a hobby when I first started competing in the UK championship.

02 / RACE DAY

What Race Day Feels Like

I wake up early on race day, then have to wake up my Dad, as he likes to lie in. I eat a light breakfast and go out to start the prep work on the car — checking oil levels, prepping tyre pressures, adding fuel, and wiping and polishing the body.

We get called down the pairing lanes for qualifying, and that's when the nerves kick in. After qualifying, it's eliminations — I try to keep a cool head and stay focused, because it's all down to me once I pull up to the line.

The Halfscale Dragster

I know what to do to prep the car for races, and I'll start learning more about the mechanicals as I start breaking things! My friends find it hard to believe a 10 year old can drive a car at 70mph and cover an eighth-mile quicker than most supercars.
