The road racing season just got even more exciting. As revealed this week, Michael Dunlop – proudly supported by Carl Cox Motorsport – will line up for the 70th anniversary Southern 100 in 2025, and the buzz is already building.
Fresh from a record-breaking TT campaign and newly honoured with an MBE for services to motorcycle racing, Dunlop returns to the Billown Circuit with one goal in mind: to win. And when the lights go out, he won’t be alone in chasing glory.
Joining Michael on the grid for what promises to be an epic showdown are fellow TT heavy-hitters Davey Todd and Dean Harrison. The so-called ‘Big Three’ of the 1000cc races at the TT are now confirmed for the Southern 100, setting the stage for a high-octane clash on the narrow, unforgiving streets of Castletown.
Todd, winner of the RST x D3O Superbike race at TT 2024, will line up aboard Monster Energy 8TEN Racing BMW machinery. Dunlop and Harrison’s machines are still to be confirmed, but make no mistake — whatever Michael swings a leg over, you can bet it’ll be fast, fierce, and ready for battle.
For us at Carl Cox Motorsport, seeing Michael Dunlop represent our name at an event like this is always something special. The Southern 100 isn’t just another race – it’s an iconic part of the road racing calendar, and Michael’s pure talent, grit, and racing IQ are perfectly suited to its unique demands. This is racing at its most raw: no runoff, no room for error – just commitment, courage, and class.
Dubbed the ‘Friendly Races’, the Southern 100 might wear a smile, but when the visor goes down, it’s every rider for themselves. And with Dunlop, Todd, and Harrison set to go wheel-to-wheel, lap after lap, fans are in for a road racing masterclass.
And it doesn’t stop there. The 2025 entry list reads like a who’s who of next-gen talent and hardened veterans: Nathan Harrison, Michael Evans, Rob Hodson, Dominic Herbertson, Jamie Coward, Erno Kostamo, and more will all be chasing podiums and pace.
But for us, all eyes are on #6. Backed by Carl Cox Motorsport, driven by passion and legacy, Michael Dunlop returns to the Southern 100 not just to race — but to write another chapter in road racing history.
We’ll be right behind him.
Full gas, always.
