The penultimate round of the 2026 FIM Sidecar World Championship takes place at the TT Circuit Assen this coming weekend (18-20th September), with the British Superbike Championship also in attendance at the ‘Cathedral of Speed’ for the first of its final three Showdown rounds.
Representing Carl Cox Motorsport on three wheels will be eight-time World Sidecar Champion Tim Reeves, who in the absence of passenger Melanie Farnier will be teaming up with German Luca Schmidt.

“I'm looking forward to the weekend. I literally just live up the road now, having bought a in Assen. So, this is literally my home race as I live just three 3 minutes from the circuit!
We've had a bit of an up and down year really. Melanie and I won both races at the Chimay Road Race earlier in the year, but she was struggling and it turned out she was carrying an injury that wasn’t improving. Melanie is now out for four months with no high impacts, so that's her out of the equation for the rest of the season unfortunately. But Luca Schmidt, who's won world championship races with Markus Schlosser, is stepping in.
I love riding under the Carl Cox Motorsport banner, and I think Luca is excited to be involved with Carl as well. With this World Championship round also being on the BSB calendar I think the sidecars are going to have a full entry, with a lot of wildcards coming from England as well. I'm sure we'll put on a good show. It’d be nice to try and stay on the podium and give Carl something back for all his efforts helping us. Can’t wait and look forward to seeing the fans there!”
